How to maintain your Svengali color
What makes these gals collectively cringe? Not Shiraz’s latest risqué joke (they’re used to those!). It’s drug store shampoos and conditioners that strip the color from your hair.
“Why spend $100 or more on professional color and then use $5 shampoo every day?” implores Leslene.
Svengali Salon offers a range of Bumble & Bumble hair products for different hair types and needs, ranging from “Super Rich” conditioner to “Gentle” shampoo – exactly what you need to keep your color looking vibrant and true. Your Svengali stylist and / or color tech can find the ideal combination for you.
“If you do use drug store shampoo, make sure you use one for color-treated hair,” Jackie cautions.
What’s hot in color?
For this season, Leslene suggests keeping it “au natural.” Cooler brown tones, taupes and sun-kissed highlights that are warm, light and soft, even underneath a darker brown color, is the look du jour.
“It’s about classic beauty,” Leslene says.
Something drastic
Itching to try something drastic? “Lots of people want to try blond color, but that can make some hair types look frizzy,” Jackie warns.
As a general rule, they suggest not going too far from your natural color.
But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try something new. “We’ve seen it all,” declares Leslene, “so we definitely know what works… and what doesn’t work.”
